The Metanexus Institute of Philadelphia
In 2004, the CPP requested participation in an international network of university associations that have as it s objective the study of issues related to the dialogue faith and science. The Metanexus Institute of Philadelphia (USA) promotes this activity.
Other seven university associations have also requested participation in this network. The universities are: Comillas (Madrid), Cartuja (Granada), Autónoma (Madrid), Deusto (Bilbao), Ramón Llull (Barcelona), the Fundación Zubiri (Madrid), the Centro Pignatelli (Zaragoza). The Chair of Science, Technology and Religion from the Pontifical University of Comillas (Madrid) coordinates this network of Spanish University Associations.
In November of 2004 the formal acceptance of the CPP into Metanexus was closed. This allows the CPP to have an international scope and to receive certain funding for its activities. It is also one way of making known the person and the work of Pedro Poveda and to establish certain relationships with qualified people interested in the same topics.
The Metanexus Institute annually organizes a congress in Philadelphia. It is attended by representatives of the various associations in its consortium interested in the topics related to religion and science.
In 2006 some 400 people attended, including two representatives from the CPP.
The activities of the Metanexus and its affiliated associations receive publicity to its Web Page.
European and Latin American network
Through the initiative of the Chair of Science, Technology and Religion, the Metanexus Institute has presented to the Metanexus Institute a Project for a European Network and ‘on line’ connections with Latin American Universities
The eighth Associations from Spain already in the Metanexus Institute actively participate in the development and organization of this Project.
