The celebration of Our Lady of Fiat, patroness of the school, has great significance and tradition at Veritas High School. This year it was celebrated on Thursday, March 23, although throughout the week the educational community carried out various activities.
The primary school students participated in the traditional flower offering. Several families and teachers joined the smaller ones and made this gesture of affection for Our Lady of FIAT.
At the same time, the students and teachers of higher grades celebrated the Eucharist. The motto of the academic year that inspired the prayers and offerings was "Brave and Committed." The work done by the primary school students about St. Pedro Poveda, Josefa Segovia and Victoria Diez was presented: "With this we want to thank you because they teach us the faith they had and how important Mary, the mother of Jesus, was for them and for the Teresian Association."
The students expressed the meaning of Our Lady of of FIAT with these words: "With her we visited her cousin Elizabeth and we heard her salute to Mary: Blessed are you among all women! With her we learned to say MAGNIFICAT, ‘my soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord, my spirit rejoices in God my Savior’. With her we went to Bethlehem and worshiped the newborn Jesus. With Her we went to the temple at Easter and were amazed at what Jesus said to the doctors and we learned to keep everything in our hearts. With her we attended the wedding at Cana and we saw how Jesus changed the water into wine. With her we stood by the cross and accompanied her when she cried. With her and with her help we receive the Holy Spirit at Pentecost and we dare to be more courageous and more committed to be: better people, better companions, better friends, to be more with Jesus, to continue growing in knowledge, in faith, and in love."
The celebration ended in with “Rumba to Poveda” and with thanksgiving from the students in their last school year.
