A group of young people from several Bolivian cities met in Cochabamba on September 22-24 around the theme: Have courage! Do not fear! The Spirit of the Lord is Strength and Love!
About fifty young people from the cities of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, La Paz, Sucre, and Cochabamba reflected on the meaning of the theme of the year of the Teresian Association: Have courage! Do not fear! The Spirit of the Lord is Strength and Love! They did so in accordance with Poveda’s themes of courage, clarity of vision, strength, and love. They also reflected on the invitation of Pope Francis to "go out to the peripheries of the world" (Letter of the Holy Father Francis to young people on the presentation of the preparatory document for the XV Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops).
Ana María García, director of the Teresian Association in Bolivia, welcomed the participants and encouraged them to live a transformative experience in their cultural richness.
In addition to the moments of reflection, the young people made a trip to Tarata, capital of the Esteban Arze Province and the first municipal section, a city located about 29 kilometers from La Paz and known as the "Colonial Villa." They also enjoyed an evening of cultural exchange.
"We are deeply grateful to God for the blessings and graces that were poured out during these days and to all the people who, in a free and committed way, continue to encourage the youth groups of the Teresian Association in this Bolivian land full of diversity, youth, color, and charm," said the young people when summarizing what they had experienced.
