DUBLIN, Ireland.

 World Meeting of Families (WMOF)

0418-3Ireland will be hosting the international World Meeting of Families (WMOF) in Dublin from 21-26 August 2018 with the theme “The Gospel of the Family: Joy for the World”.  To mark this event the Irish Catholic newspaper launched a competition. Children aged 6 to 9 were asked to draw a picture and write a letter of welcome.

The document to celebrate family life, “The Joy of Love” (Amoris Laetitia) has inspired the making of an Icon dedicated for the world meeting was recently brought to Rome and blessed by Pope Francis himself.

April and May are the months dedicated to the immediate preparation for the WMOF for Catholic Schools nationwide. The school, as a “family of families” will focus on the theme: Families of Joy.  These two remaining months of the school year dedicated to the preparations will be guided and lived in a spirit of joy, fortitude and love.

*Failte is the Irish word for welcome
