“We have inherited a spiritual legacy, a blessedness that is owed to the world”, says Vicki Geraldo, initiator of the program.
“We have been encouraged by the positive responses received from individuals and groups that found the previous Lenten guide, with texts of Pedro Poveda, helpful”, she says.
This program uses the carefully arranged texts of Josefa Segovia gathered by Arantxa Aguado in the book The grace of today, published by Narcea Ediciones. “They offer an opportunity of being touched by the faith of a woman who lived the Teresian charism passionately”, says Geraldo.
The introduction to the program includes a personal witness from Dolores Gracian who describes Josefa Segovia as a woman “who inspired those near her to dare taking risks in the service of God".
Gracian experienced this first hand in 1955, when the TA President, Josefa Segovia, sent her with another young student, to the United States.
“What was she expecting from us in such a big place?” she recalls. Josefa Segovia had asked them “to be my eyes and my ears in order to discern if God would want in the future the presence of the TA there”, Gracian recalls, 63 years later and still in the US.
This program for Advent and its logo has been possible with the contribution of several members of the USA Delegation, in the hope that many others will join in and benefit from the wisdom of this great woman.
In the International TA web, users will find the reflections for the Sundays of Advent and later on for the three weeks that follow Christmas, until the Sunday of the Baptism of the Lord.
