Authorities and alumni of Veritas Institute in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, recognized the merits, commitment, and dedication to teaching of Encarnación Molina, a retired teacher and member of the Teresian Association who worked at the Institute and returned to this country after 35 years.
Maite Uribe, President of the Teresian Association, participated in the XVIII Training Conference organized by InteRed that took place in Madrid the weekend of September24-24.
Maria Leonor Romero Ochoa has been honored by the Ministry of Education of Peru with the following award: “Palmas magisteriales en el Grado de Amauta.” This is the highest recognition that a teacher may receive in Peru for his/her professional itinerary in favor of education in the country. On August 9, 2016, the National Council of Higher Education, Science and Technology, of Dominican Republic, approved the establishment of Pedro Poveda Higher Institute of Educational Studies (ISEP, in Spanish) proposed by Poveda Cultural Center, a pioneer in teacher training in the public sector in vulnerable contexts, and educational research, since 1985.

The Conference of the University-Research group of the Teresian Association (TA) took place in San Sebastian, European Capital of Culture 2016, from August 25-29.
