Linares, Jaén, Spain
On April 27, The President of the Teresian Association, Uribe Maite Bilbao, opened an exhibition commemorating the first anniversary of the presence of the Teresian Association, founded by Saint Pedro Poveda in 1911 in the city of Linares. About a hundred people from different parts of Spain attended the event, including Concha Romera, director of the Teresian Association in Spain.
On May 9, the “Hermandad del Refugio” (Brotherhood of Shelter) of which St. Pedro Poveda was a member, celebrated a Mass of Thanksgiving at the Royal Church of Saint Anthony of the Germans to mark the tenth anniversary of the canonization of the founder of the Teresian Association (TA).
Pedro Poveda's name was written on a stained glass window of the Holy Family Basilica in Barcelona.
O May 4th, 2003, the Colon Plaza in Madrid was transformed into an open and universal temple. The Pope John Paul II proclaimed the priest and founder, Pedro Poveda, a saint. Ten years after that event we would like to remember this event collectively.
