A guidebook titled "Covadonga and its natural environment. The story through the years" will be presented on October 28 at 8:00 PM at the Asturian Center in Madrid.
September 27 will mark the 50th anniversary of the Teresian School in Dublin, Ireland. A Mass of Thanksgiving, presided by Bishop Paul Callan, was celebrated Sacred Heart Church. A reception followed at the school premises.
Organized by the Teresian Association in Italy, on October 10 there will be a celebration of the V Centenary of the Birth of St. Teresa of Avila (1515-2015) at the Aula Magna of the Pontifical Gregorian University. The European Commission in Italy sponsors the event.
The staff of the University Residence for Women (RUF) in Lima shares the reorientation process undertaken since May 2015. The current project provides comprehensive formation, including human and Christian values, to young people from remote and vulnerable areas of the country. Seventeen students have joined through a scholarship from the Peruvian government, with the commitment to return to their places of origin and spend some time there. They also share about the celebration of the feast of the Assumption on August 15, when they welcomed former residents who also participated in the Eucharist, poems, songs and dances.
Victoria Diez School in Sucre celebrated its feast during several days. After almost 20 years since its inception, the school has 1,000 students and is located in a low socio-economic area of the city. It serves a population of Quechua immigrants. Alumni reviewing photographs, singing accompanied by the organ, toasts, sports tournaments, and retreats were some of the many activities. The involvement of families and teachers has been a feature of the celebrations.
On the last day of July, the “Teresa and Interreligious Dialogue" International Award was awarded to Brazilian Professor Lúcia Pedrosa-Padua. Shewill receive 6,000 € and a commemorative plaque. The title of her work is: “Santa Teresa de Jesus: contribuições ao diálogo inter-religioso e interfaces com o hinduísmo moderno, através da Yoga de Swami Sri Yukteswar e de Paramahansa Yogananda”.
