A large group of members and friends of the Teresian Association in Italy celebrated the Passover this year in Carini, near Palermo, with the motto of the year “The Incarnation well understood”, as its central theme.
The Permanent Council of the Italian Bishops Conference CEI has appointed Maddalena Pievaioli, member of the Teresian Association, new General Secretary of the CNAL, National Consultation di Aggregazioni Laicali, National Consultation of the Lay Associations, on the 22nd of May.

During the 20th Lay Congress of the Philippines, held last October, in the diocese of Legazpi, the National Board of the Council of the Laity was renewed. Rosalinda Basas, member of the Teresian Association, was re-elected secretary.
For the first time, the First World Day of the Poor, instituted by Pope Francis on the XXXIII Sunday in Ordinary Time, will be celebrated on November 19. The message is titled: "Let us love, not with words but with deeds.”
Since this year marks the centennial of the diocesan and civil approval of the Teresian Association in Jaén,1917, its founder Pedro Poveda, the saint from Linares, had an important relevance in the presentations of the XXX Congress of the Association of Archivists of the Church in Spain, September 11-15. Attendees also visited Guadix to learn about the altruistic work of Father Poveda.
In the afternoon of May 20, the auditorium of Colegio Mayor Poveda in Madrid was filled with people interested in a subject that, at first glance, does not seem to have much appeal today. The event was the presentation of a book by Anabela Neves Rodrigues, member of the Teresian Association in Portugal, titled "La luz que nosilumina” (The light that illuminates us.)
Pedro Poveda Secretariat published its bulletin number 17, which offers testimonies and information on Saint Pedro Poveda, Blessed Victoria Díez and Josefa Segovia. In this edition, people from different countries write about aspects of the charism of the Teresian Association that have specific meaning in their context.
The Commission of theologians of the Teresian Association in America wish to contribute their reflection on to documents of Pope Francis. Their work is an invitation to continue to deepen into them and find new perspectives.

Mística y Profecía is the title of a digital book that collects the proceedings of the American and Caribbean Congress of Theology and Spirituality in celebration of the V Centenary of the Birth of St. Teresa of Avila. It was published at the end of 2016 by Editorial de autores de Argentina. Download of the book is free.
After three years of study, on February 18, the graduation of 16 participants in the Second Course on Theological Biblical Formation took place in Holguin. The course was taught by Carmen Aparicio Valls, Theology Professor at the Pontifical Gregorian University of Rome, with the support of Araceli Cantero in matters of spiritual integration. The course has received academic support from members of the Teresian Association and logistic support from San Arnoldo Janssen Center for the Formation of the Laity of the Diocese of Holguín, which was the location for the face-to-face meetings and the graduation ceremony.
